Why can't Jared tweet?

Jared Kushner, son-in-law and Senior White House Adviser to President Donald Trump, is, according to The Washington Post, leading the brand new White House Office of American Innovation, which will be devoted to modernizing the federal government with ideas plucked form the world of business.

It will have a special focus on technology and data.

To better understand how Kushner sees the role innovation can play in modernizing government, we dug up the former real estate mogul and New York Observer publisher's Twitter account.

Oh. Wait.

Kushner, who has a verified Twitter account with 37,000 followers and joined the platform in 2009 (that's eight years ago), has never tweeted.

Never. Ever.

Not only is this a remarkable contrast with his father-in-law, President Donald J. Trump (he's tweeted almost 38,000 times), it's a tad shocking for someone who wants to help the stodgy government update its practices with technology.

Kushner isn't even following his wife Ivanka Trump's lead. The new West Wing resident has millions of followers and has tweeted more than 13,000 times.

As far as we can tell, Kushner doesn't have any other social media or digital profiles to speak of. He's not even on LinkedIn.

Kushner's background is in real estate and publishing, and he has degrees in law and business. What Kushner doesn't have is any evidence of expertise in technology. His biggest tech accomplishment may have been launching the tech-focused site BetaBeat at The New York Observer, an occasion he chose not to tweet about.

Perhaps Kushner, unlike the rest of his family, is anti-Twitter, tweeting in obscurity under a nom de plume. It's possible. But we doubt it.

In the meantime, we await the head of The White House Office of American Innovation's first tweet.
